![]() Wouldn't pump the bed to sufficient pressure. Air also comes out when you pull the double valve back out. If you push too hard, the Coleman "double valve" closes and no air goes in. First problem: Not enough friction between the black nozzle and the valve on the air bed so you have to sit there pinching them together. The inflatedbed won't fit through the door of my tent so I couldn't use a 12v pump. If time is not a concern for you this product will get the job done but if you want to quickly get more than a twin size air mattress filled up you might want to look at other options. It started to work again after I let it cool but it seems a poor design that the moved air is not used to cool the motor which is open in the case with the batteries. It worked great but then seemed to overheat and stopped working before it could finish our queen sized mattress. Now down to performance, once we got our tent up I started setting up and I found the biggest problem with this product. It was hard to grasp they were both Coleman products sitting side by side. The pump feels cheap and looking at it the components it has to be a very profitable item for them. I also had purchased the Coleman 4D CPX 6 Portable Energy Pack at the same time and out of the box it was very clear that the pump was an inferior product in comparison in build quality. It was cheaper than Walmart and prime which is my addiction so it made it a good buy for me. I purchased this product for our first Boy Scout outing where we would not have electricity for our 110v or 12v pumps and it arrived as advertised. I would recommend this pump for mattresses and other inflatables. But this combo purchased separately works well and is cheaper than any other combos I have seen. I wish Coleman would make a combo mattress and pump. When the old batteries wear out the new ones will become the old and I will bring another set of new batteries.īatteries do get warm after running the pump for 8-10 mins, not a problem as far as I can see. I switched out to the older batteries to deflate and will repeat this procedure to extend the battery life. ![]() I used old batteries to inflate most of the way, and then switched out brand new batteries to complete the task to a nicely firm mattress. ![]() 2) older batteries will not inflate to a high enough firmness. I used a small spring loaded clamp to attach the nozzle to the mattress while inflating. The two drawbacks, hence the 4 star not 5 rating, are 1) doesn't attach to the mattress while inflating. It works well and inflates this large mattress relatively quickly (5-10 mins). We bought this pump to go along with our double high queen size air mattress, for camping.
